Tests have shown that certain reserve parachutes cannot be deployed properly
with the UP model K2 tandem harness, DHV GS-03-0259-02.
We would like to remind all users of this and other harnesses of the
obligatory compatibility test.
This test must be carried out each time a reserve parachute is packed
into a harness, to ensure a problem-free deployment in all situations.
In the case of the UP harness model K2 it can happen that the reserve
becomes stuck inside the outer container and cannot be deployed.
If you discover this problem with your harness-reserve configuration the
harness must not be flown until modifications followed by new successful
compatibility tests have been carried out.
UP offers K2 owners two different options:
1. The K2 harness is retrofitted with a new outer container that ensures
problem-free deployment with most reserve parachutes.
The modification is carried out by UP
2. A new K2 harness (excluding carabiners and airbags) already equipped
with the modified container. The price for this exchange is 120 EUR + VAT,
and the old harness must be sent to UP
It is up to the K2 owner to decide the preferred option.

Il a été constaté qu'avec la sellette de biplace UP K2 (DHV GS-03-0259-02),
certains parachutes de secours ne sortent pas du conteneur de la sellette.
Ceci vous rappelle qu'il est obligatoire de controller que le POD sort bien de la
sellette en position de vol, car une incompatibilité POD/CONTENEUR peut exister.
Si vous constatez que le POD ne sort pas du conteneur de votre sellette K2
avec une traction "normale" sur la poignée,
il est impératif d'intervenir avant le vol suivant.
UP propose à tous les propriétaires de K2 les 2 solutions suivantes:
UP installe gratuitement sur la sellette un conteneur compatible
avec la plupart des secours.
UP échange votre sellette K2 actuelle avec un modèle dont le conteneur
est optimisé, ceci pour un surcoût de 120 Euros HT.
Le client peut choisir la solution qu'il préfère.

Gurtzeug für Gleitsegel UP K2 DHV GS-03-0259-02
Bei dem UP Tandem-Gurtzeug K2, DHV GS-03-0259-02 kann es vorkommen,
dass sich verschiedene Rettungsschirme beim Auslösen verkeilen und
sich somit nicht auslösen lassen. Es wird hier noch einmal ausdrücklich
auf die Pflicht hingewiesen, eine Kompatibilitätsprüfung von Gurtzeug
und Rettungsschirm durchzuführen und in diesem Zusammenhang insbesondere
die Auslösbarkeit des Rettungsschirms zu überprüfen.
Sollte der Rettungsschirm nicht mit normaler Zugkraft auslösen,
so darf das Gurtzeug erst wieder nach einer Änderung durch den
Hersteller und danach erfolgreich durchgeführter Kompatibilitätsprüfung
in Betrieb genommen werden.
Der Hersteller UP bietet allen K2 Besitzern folgende 2 alternative
Lösungsmöglichkeiten an:
1. Das K2 wird von UP kostenlos mit einem neuen Container ausgestattet,
der das korrekte Auslösen der meisten Rettungsschirme gewährleistet.
2. Der K2 Besitzer bekommt für einen Aufpreis von 120 EUR + MwSt ein
komplett neues Gurtzeug K2 mit bereits optimiertem Container zugesendet.
Der Kunde kann aus beiden Alternativen auswählen. In beiden Fällen muss
das UP K2 an folgende Firma gesendet werden:
