At routine canopy re-examinations and the checking of canopies which have 
been involved in accidents, it has been observed that after ageing, the 
breaking strengths of Aramid lines in the upper galleries can diminish 
faster than the breaking strengths of the main lines. 

As a preventative safety measure the following must be adhered to: 

At re-examination sample Aramid lines from all galleries and the main 
lines must be subjected to breaking strength testing. 

The following limits are to be used: 

The total calculated strength (N) of all A & B lines using the worst case 
sample results, must not be less than 8 times the maximum certified take-off 
mass of the canopy (kg) the total calculated strengths for all other lines, 
must not be less than 6 times the maximum take-off mass. Additionally, the 
manufacturer must record the minimum breaking strength (N) of all line 
materials used. 

These measures must be implemented at the next re-examination of a canopy.

"Suite à des révisions de voiles et des inspection de voiles accidentées, 
il est apparu que les suspentes en aramide de faible diamètre vieillissent 
plus vite que celles des autres étages. 
Leur résistance à la rupture diminue plus rapidement.

Le DHV préconise donc les mesures de précaution suivantes:

Lors du test de résistance à la rupture des suspentes en Aramide, 
les valeurs minimales acceptables à utiliser sont les suivantes: 

Groupe de lignes A et B hors stabilos:
Pour les suspentes de chaque étage: 
             Rmin=PTVmax x 8 / Nse
Groupe de lignes restantes:
Pour les suspentes de chaque étage: 
             Rmin=PTVmax x 6 / Nse 
Avec:
Rmin=valeur min de resistance à la rupture acceptable
PTVmax=Poids Total Volant Max certifié
Nse=Nombre de suspentes sur l'étage considéré pour ce groupe de lignes

Le fabricant doit garder trace de la résistance à la rupture de tous les 
types de suspentes utilisées. 
Mesures applicable dès la prochaine révision.

Cette note est une instruction de la part des fabricants envers 
les sociétés de révision d'ailes. 
Elle est publiée pour que les pilotes en soient informés.

Bei Nachprüfungen und Unfalluntersuchungen wurde festgestellt, dass auf 
grund von Alterung die Bruchfestigkeiten von Aramid-Leinen bei den oberen 
Leinenstockwerken stärker absinken können als bei den Stammleinen.

Es wird deshalb vorsorglich folgende Sicherheitsmaßnahme getroffen.

Bei der Nachprüfungen von Gleitsegeln müssen Aramid-Leinen alle 
Leinenstockwerke einer stichprobenweisen Überprüfung der Bruchfestigkeit 
unterzogen werden.

Es werden folgende Grenzwerte festgelegt:
Die Summe aller A+B Leinen auf Basis des schlechtesten gemessenen Wertes 
dürfen das 8 Fache des maximale Startgewichts nicht unterschreiten. 
Die Summe aller weiteren Leinenebenen dürfen das 6 Fache des maximalen 
zulässigen Startgewichts nicht unterschreiten. 
Basis ist der schlechteste gemessene Wert. 
Zusätzlich wird ein minimaler Grenzwert in N für jeden Leinentyp vom 
Hersteller festgelegt.

Die Sicherheitsmaßnahmen müssen bei der nächsten Nachprüfung durchgeführt werden.
