  1. Debre Libanos, 
  take off N, medium, altitude 2680 m
  spectacular take off prepared just beside of the road
  to the famous monastery Debre Libanos, 96 km north of Addis
  best period dec - mai, from 11 am. - 4 pm
  overlooking the Jemma Canyon (5000 feet)
  landing: toplanding higher up than take off on a
  plateau to the right or, below on a terrasse 2 kms
  east of take off, back up to the road by footpath 20
  min.XC potential towards Addis (south)following high
  plateaus above the main road

  2. Senkale Faris
  take off E, easy, 150 m Alt. Diff. hillsoaring behind
  the town of Ambo 124 km west of Addis, take off at
  2200 m,best time dry season nov. - feb, 2pm - sunset
  permission of the CAA in Addis required in order to
  avoid problems with the local police post !

  3. Johanis, 2380 m
  take any direction, principally E/SE during dry season
  and W / N during rain periods, 46 km SW from Addis
  (Jima Road)
  Our main site and training site, a chain of smooth
  hills, turn off at the village of Tafki, follow a
  dirttrail by 4x4 about 6 kms to the southern edge of
  the hills, choose your launch, best time dry season 7
  am - 11 am, later strong winds,from march - mai all
  day long except thunderstorm conditions ! XC potential
  towards Awash River (south and west) or Jima Road
  (North)

  4. Haro Wenchi, 
  take off E, easy, 3300 m,
  spectacular place overlooking the crater of Haro
  Wenchi, 22 km piste from Ambo plus 500 mts footwalk ,
  best conditions 8 - 11 am in dry season,
  landing directly below small field on the lakeshore
  (inside the crater a lake with an island)or toplanding!

  5. Tulu Deemtu, 
  highest point of Bale Mountains, 4377 m
  take N, NE, short flight to the lower plateau,
  piste access to the summit (highest allweather road of
  Africa), conditions 8am - 11am in dry season
  lots of possibilities around Dinsho (nice lodge there)

  6. Lake Langano, 1400 m,
  lake cliffs, cliff take off E,
  NE, landing short strip at lake shore, ad. 80 mts.
  access from the Bekele Mola Hotel at the southern end
  of Lake Langano,a 20 min. walk across the rocks,
  distance:235 km south from Addis

  7. Lalibela, Asheten Plateau, 2850 m, take off W,
  SW,potentially a leeside,only experts, 1 hr walk from
  Lalibela, porters and mules available, best conditions
  in the afternoon (wind)or after the dry season (wind
  turns west)all day, potentially very turbulent
  especially landing in dry season, very hot place,
  excellent for XC,

  8. Debre Sina, 
  Rift cliffs, several take offs at 3000 m,
  just above the italian tunnel , 30 min. walk from the
  road,meadows overlooking Debre Sina and the Awash
  depression, very scenic, experts only, take off NE-SE,
  toplanding preferable, Alt. Diff. 1200 m ! 166 kms NE
  from Addis, XC potential (Rift)

  9. Mount Hakima, 2000 m,
  take off SE, overlooking
  Harar, 516 km SE from Addis, take off is going to be
  prepared, alt. diff. 200 mts. XC Potential
